Construction Jobs Rose In March

The construction industry had 224,000 job openings on the last day of March, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Industry job openings increased by 23,000 last month but are down by 54,000 from the same time last year.
Home Prices Grow

Home prices rose in 71% of metro markets (167 out of 235) during the first quarter of 2026, down from 73% in the fourth quarter. Seven percent of metro areas (16 out of 235) recorded double-digit price gains, up from 5% last quarter.

New orders for manufactured goods in March, up four of the last five months, increased $9.1 billion or 1.5% to $630.4 billion, the U.S. Census Bureau reported. This followed a 0.3% February increase.
