Total nonfarm payroll employment edged up by 115,000 in April, and the unemployment rate was unchanged at 4.3%, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported.

Consumer sentiment declined 3.2% to 48.2 in May, according to final results from the University of Michigan Survey of Consumers. This represents a 7.7% decline year over year.

The 30-year FRM averaged 6.37% as of May 7, 2026, up from last week when it averaged 6.30%. A year ago at this time, the 30-year FRM averaged 6.76%. The 15-year FRM now stands at 5.27%.
Pending Home Sales Reach New High
